Another translation of “du jour au lendemain” is “from one day to the next,” which also occurs in English in much the same way as it does in the French. For example, “Il est devenue riche du jour au lendemain!” could translate as “From one day to the next, he became a rich man!”

Il y a une éxpression assez semblable en portugais: “do dia para a noite”. Cela signifie, littéralement, “du jour à la nuit”.
