Why did you move to France?
I got married to a French citizen.
How did you do it?
As soon as I moved here, I took intensive French courses and then looked for work in my field, which is very specialized. There was a lot of paperwork, but we found it quite organized. In additional, there are many organizations which help people look for work. I gave my interviews in half French half English, which was acceptable, as my work involved working with companies worldwide.
Tips and Tricks
- 1. You have to speak and write French very well
- 2. It is best to integrate in the French culture and way of life
- 3. If you don't have a very specialized, it is difficult to find work as people prefer to employ French citizens due to the high level of unemployment in the country.

Yes and no.
What has surprised/disappointed you the most?
1. Racist sexist jokes at work place supported by the human resources
2. Constant criticism of everything that is not French
3. Paperwork
4. Everything takes time
