Definition: mistaken elision or liaison, malapropism; muddle, incoherent jumble

Il a fait un pataquès de son discours - His speech was an incoherent jumble.

faire un pataquès - to make an incorrect elision/liaison

Example: "Tu es allé" should be pronounced [tu ay a lay], but many French learners (including myself) unconsciously add a T (es => est) and say [tu ay ta lay]. This is known as a pataquès - mispronouncing a French phrase by adding or changing a liaison.
