Definition: parking lot, car park
Y a-t-il un parking près de la plage ? - Is there a parking lot near the beach?
You have to be a bit careful with the franglais term parking, which is a noun in French, but may be a noun, verb (present participle), or adjective in English. The adjective can be a little tricky: in English, you have the adjective "parking" + a noun, such as "parking garage," but in French you usually have the noun parking + an adjective: un parking couvert.
Official French equivalents
parking (noun): le stationnement
parking lot: un parc de stationnement
to park: garer or stationner. Note that if these verbs don't have a direct object, you must use the reflexive pronoun: se garer / se stationner:
Où vas-tu garer la voiture ?
Where are you going to park the car?
Où vas-tu te garer ?
Where are you going to park?
