Expression: Fais voir

Pronunciation: [feh vwar]

Meaning: Let me see (it), Show me

Literal translation: Make see

Register: informal

Notes: You can use the French expression fais voir, or the plural/formal conjugation faites voir, to ask someone to let you take a look at whatever you're talking about - a photograph, a book, a letter. It's simply the imperative of faire (to do, make) plus the infinitive voir (to see).

Examples:

-Je ne peux pas trouver l'autoroute sur ce plan. -Fais voir.
-I can't find the highway on this map. -Let me see (it).

   Faites voir les billets.
   Show me the tickets.

Incidentally, the construction faire plus infinitive is called the causative.
