The French verb changer means "to change." You conjugate it much like you would a regular -er verb, but changer is a spelling change verb, so there are some rules you need to know.

How to Conjugate the French Verb Changer

Like it is wth regular -er verbs, the stem of changer is the infinitive without the -er (chang-). But when conjugating a verb that ends in -ger, you must add an e between the stem and endings that start with a hard vowel sound of an a or an o. How to Use Changer in the Past Tense

To say you or someone changed something, you'd most likely use the passé composé. The auxiliary verb for changer is avoir. The past participle is changé.
