XC - French Pronunciation of XC

The letters XC can be pronounced in one of two ways in French:

1. In front of a soft vowel, the XC is pronounced [KS], like the soft X pronunciation.
    
2. In front of a hard vowel or a consonant, the X and C are pronounced separately according to their respective rules.
