The French letter combinations EUIL and EUILLE are pronounced [œj], like the oo in "good" followed by a y sound.

Notes:
At the beginning of a word, the sound [œj] is always spelled ŒIL
When the sound [œj] is preceded by the letters C or G, the spelling changes to UEIL. (If you're wondering why, take a look at my explanation of hard and soft vowels.)
LL preceded by EUI is always pronounced like a y, but this is not necessarily the case for other letter combinations with LL.
