You also have the option to hear all instructions in French (total immersion), and you can copy the Tell Me More audio onto a CD, PocketPC, or MP3 player in order to listen away from your computer.

French Lessons

Thirty-seven types of activities divided into six workshops (lesson, grammar, vocabulary, cultural, oral, and written) make it easy to concentrate on the areas that most interest and/or trouble you.

Speech Recognition

The speech recognition technology will evaluate and help you improve your pronunciation, while the phoneme pronunciation exercises include 3-dimensional, animated graphics so that you can see as well as hear exactly how each word is pronounced. (A headset with microphone is included with software.)

free trial, maybe not as good?, Member elle_p

I've been going through the free trial for ""Tell Me More"" as a way to discern this software's strength's & weaknesses. Yes, I've only used the ""free trial,"" but based on that they would expect you to make a decision, correct? So, I wouldn't recommend going with this one because it's not up-to-par with what I see in Rosetta's free trial. It's interface is graphically well executed, but you can see that the tutorial video is complex because it HAS to be. It's hard to find what you'd like to do. Lastly, it seems rather random in what it offers for introductory vocabulary building for the beginner's level. I have an almost-intermediate level awareness of French, but I'm looking for something that would also work for my partner (who is an absolute beginner.) I could NOT make heads or tails of what they were offering at their beginner level. It's not a good user design for a beginner's learning experience IMHO. I'd say, look elsewhere. Why get frustrated with the interface itself? Rosetta seems to make it easy, it flows, it's progressive and logical.
