Eating and Drinking
Little Pim French is a multi-award-winning series of French DVDs focusing on various themes for children ages 0 to 5. Disk 1, Eating and Drinking, is a 30-minute program offering 60 words and phrases related to food, drink, and meals. Children are shown eating and drinking as the animated panda repeats the name of the relevant item and related phrases, such as Une banane. Qu'est-ce qu'il mange ? Il mange une banane. The French words are displayed periodically on the screen, and there is an option for English subtitles to play along with the video.
Since I don't have children to tell me how fun this is to watch and what they've learned, my review can only be based on my opinion of the program from an adult point of view. The native speaker providing the panda's voice pronounces the French very carefully and clearly, but I think she could repeat each word a few more times, at least once each time the scene changes. At times there are children eating and drinking with no voiceover, which I, again as an adult, didn't find all that interesting.
The eating and drinking portion of the video is about 30 minutes, and is followed by a few minutes about cats and dogs.
