Definition: A verb is the action word in a sentence. It is the word that says what happens, discusses an action, or describes a state of being. French verbs must be conjugated (inflected).

The blanks in these sentences can only be filled with verbs.

I _____ tired (am, feel, look)
He ____ to the store (went, walks, was going)
We _____ books (hate, collect, read)


Types of verbs:
