Definition: A compound tense used mainly in subordinate clauses to express emotion, doubt, etc. when the main clause is in the past.

Formation: Subjunctive auxiliary verb + past participle

Examples:

J'étais heureux que tu aies vu Luc.
I was happy that you saw Luc.

C'était dommage qu'il ne soit pas venu à Paris.
It was too bad that he didn't come to Paris.

Misspellings: sobjonctif passe, subjunctif passe
