C'est la fête des amoureux ! Enfin... en fait, c'est un peu plus compliqué ma chérie. En France, c'est la fêtes des gens qui sont amoureux. Aux Etats-Unis, c'est la fête de l'amour en général.
It's the day of people in love! Well... actually it's a bit more complicated my darling. In France, it's the day of people who are in love. In the States, it's the day of love in general.

Et bien, pour la Saint Valentin aux US, tu pourrais faire une carte pour Geege et Papa Steve, et leur dire "je vous aime de tout mon coeur, joyeuse Saint Valentin". Tu pourrais faire des cartes pour tes amis, pour ta famille... mais aussi pour ton amoureux, si tu en as un. C'est l'amour en général.
Well, for Valentine's day in the US, you could make a card for Geege and Papa Steve, and tell them "I love you with all my heart, happy Saint Valentine". You could make cards for your friends, for your family... but also for your sweetheart, if you have one. It's love in general.

Non : en France, la Saint Valentin c'est seulement pour les amoureux.

Oui. Olivier va certainement m'offrir un bouquet de roses rouges, et moi je vais lui offrir des chocolats: c'est la tradition.

Mais je ne suis pas amoureuse de toi ! Tu es ma chérie d'amour de mon coeur, ma fille adorée que j'aime, ma choupinette, my love-love, mais mon amoureux, c'est Olivier. Toi, tu iras sans doute passer la soirée chez Mamie.
But I'm not in love with you! You are my (not translatable French terms of endearments but something like my lovable sweetie of my heart, my adored daughter whom I love, my sweetie, my love-love) but my sweetheart is Olivier. You will probably go spend the night at Grandma's.
