The French expression Que dalle ! and the accompanying gesture indicate that the response to a question is "absolutely nothing!" Register - familiar 1. Make a fist with your thumb sticking out, hold your hand up to your mouth so that your thumbnail is behind your top teeth.
2. Quickly pull your fist away from your mouth, making your thumbnail click against your teeth.
