Gesture 3: « Il se tourne les pouces »

Gestes français - French Gestures

In English, when someone is doing nothing, we can say he's twiddling his thumbs. French has the same expression - "il se tourne les pouces" - and a gesture to go with it. Just cross your hands and move your thumbs around each other.

Register - normal

Another way to say that someone is doing nothing is with the expression faire du lard.

Start over    Gesture 2 - Silence !    Gesture 4 - J'ai du nez
