| C'est venu par le dessin tout d'abord. J'étais dans un centre de loisirs quand j'étais tout petit avec un moniteur qui m'a montré un magazine et c'est à partir de là que j'ai accroché en fait. | It came through drawing to begin with. I was in an activity center when I was very small with a monitor who showed me a magazine and actually it's from that point that I got into it. |
| C'était une façon d'aboutir son travail sur papier et de le reproduire sur un mur. Voilà, c'est parti. Une fois qu'on a accroché, c'est comme une drogue. On peut pas s'en passer. Là ça va faire une petite année, mais deux ans en vrai et... une année parce que vraiment c'est parti, c'est bien parti. Là, ça prend la moitié de ma vie avec les études, parce que les études... il faut savoir que sans les études on peut rien faire dans la vie, donc c'est une passion juste après les études en fait. Et j'en fais selon les moyens du bord, quoi, parce que l'argent on peut pas l'inventer. | It was a way of bringing the work I'd done on paper to fruition and reproducing it on a wall. | Tu vois, il y avait une émission, ça s'appelait H.I.P.H.O.P. À l'ancienne, c'était sur le Smurf. Tu vois, l'animateur il s'appelait Sidney et la première émission elle se passait à côté de chez moi à la cité des 4000 et ben c'était la première fois que Madonna venait en France. C'était la première fois qu'elle passait sur un plateau de télé en France. Et à côté d'elle il y avait un gars, il taguait Futura 2000. Nous, on l'a vu grafer tout ça. On s'est dit : Qu'est-ce qu'il fait, lui ? T'as vu ? Et le lendemain on taguait tous Futura 2000. On savait pas pourquoi exactement. Jusqu'à ce que quelqu'un, il est venu, il nous a expliqué que Futura 2000, c'était quelqu'un qui existait déjà. Il fallait nous trouver un nom. Après petit à petit on s'est trouvé chacun son nom, tout ça... on a monté un petit groupe. Et après, mi-85 on était vraiment opérationnels mais on a commencé par le vandalisme uniquement. | You see, there was a program that was called H.I.P.H.O.P, it was on break dancing. Afterwards, little by little each of us found a name and all that.... we formed a little group. And afterwards by mid-'85 we were really operational but we started with just vandalism. |
