Pronoun - le Pronom

Definition  A pronoun is a word that substitutes for a noun. French pronouns usually have to agree with the gender, number, and/or person of the nouns they replace.
   
Types Pronouns can be divided into personal pronouns and impersonal pronouns, and from there into multiple types: possessive pronouns, demonstrative pronouns, interrogative pronouns, etc.

Grammar glossary

  A word that meets all of these requirements is probably a pronoun:
  1. Answers the question "who" or "what"
  2. Is not capitalized (except at the beginning of a sentence)
  3. Cannot be used with an article (except possessive pronouns)
