French Forums
Did you know that in addition to the French lessons and
links on this website, there is also a thriving community? Many of my
readers take a break from their French studies by visiting one or more of the forums. These community
tools are here for you: practice reading and writing French while getting to know other students,
teachers, and folks interested in French. Learning French in a vacuum is no good - if you really want
to improve, you must practice. I invite you to join us in any of the forums.
French for Beginners Forum
|
Perfect for anyone who has only recently begun studying French or is picking
it up again after many years away. Ask all of your French questions here -
nothing is too basic! You can ask about French vocabulary, pronunciation, grammar, or
anything else that you need help with. Please feel free to ask for help with your
French homework, but note that I will only provide guidance - I will not do the homework
for you.
Anyone who just doesn't feel comfortable jumping into the more
advanced forums is also welcome to post here. No question is too easy - want to know how to get started learning French? Need
help conjugating verbs? Feel like commiserating with other beginners? Post a note in
the French for Beginners forum.
À la française
|
This bilingual forum is the original as well as the most popular of my five forums. The À la française forum is aimed mainly at intermediate French students, but everyone is welcome. Discussions usually take place in both French and English - feel free to respond with whichever language you are comfortable with. If you post in French, please indicate whether you'd like other members to offer corrections.
Common topics include linguistics and etymology, francophone cultures, current events, literature, music, travel stories, and readers' personal experiences learning French. All are welcome in the À la française forum.
« Le Carrefour francophone »
|

This forum is especially for French teachers and tutors to find information and support from our virtual colleagues. You can trade lesson plans, discuss teaching ideas, share tips and strategies, request activity suggestions, find ways to motivate students, and commiserate with other teachers.
The internet is an amazing tool for teachers - take advantage of it with the
Profs de français forum!
