ARTFL, the project for American and French Research on the Treasury of the French Language, has combined the 1694, 1798, and 1835 editions of the Dictionnaire de l'Académie française and Jean Nicot's Thresor de la langue française from 1606 into a searchable dictionary, allowing French speakers to study the evolution of French vocabulary.
You can only search for one word at time, no phrases. Accents are optional.
When you click Find, a new page will open with the results from all four French dictionaries.
