Partir, Sortir, Dormir

The French verbs partir, sortir, and dormir are part of an important set of irregular -IR verbs which are conjugated the same way. Drop the infinitive ending, and for the singular forms also drop the final consonant of the radical, then add the appropriate ending:

Ending Partir (to leave) Sortir (to go out) Dormir (to sleep)
je -s pars sors dors
tu -s pars sors dors
il, elle, on -t part sort dort
nous -ons partons sortons dormons
vous -ez partez sortez dormez
ils, elles -ent partent sortent dorment

Verbs conjugated the same way: mentir (to lie), se repentir (to repent), sentir (to feel, smell), servir (to serve).
