On peut rapprocher l’expression « saisir une occasion » de l’expression « prendre une décision » dans un exemple comme celui-ci :

Jacques, voilà un nouvel emploi qui s’offre à toi. « Saisi cette occasion », elle est unique, mais tu dois « prendre une décision ».

When you speak English you put yourself in the place of those who’re waiting for a decision to be made. When you speak French you put yourself in the place of the person who must pick a choice. That’s why it takes several languages to grasp the full reality of things.
