French grammar: Conditional perfect, second form

By , About.com GuideApril 4, 2012

Follow me on:

The second form of the French conditional perfect is a rather strange verb tense/mood. It is the literary equivalent of one verb form and is identical in conjugation to another. As with all literary tenses, you should learn to recognize the second form of the conditional perfect, but chances are that you will never need to conjugate it.
