En France, au milieu de la période des fêtes, il est impossible de ne pas penser aux marchés de Noël. De nos jours, ils se trouvent un peu partout, mais les premiers étaient en Alsace, dû à la proximité de cette région à l'Allemagne - et le fait d'avoir longtemps fait partie de ce pays.

Le marché de Noël de Strasbourg est le plus ancien, le plus célèbre et l'un des plus grands de France. Il a fait ses débuts autour de la cathédrale en 1570, et aujourd'hui il y en a 10 de plus dans le centre de la Capitale de Noël autoproclamée. Certains sont à thème, comme le marché des saveurs alsaciennes et le Noël du livre.

À part la possibilité d'acheter tous ses cadeaux de Noël, visiter Strasbourg en ce moment est intéressant aussi pour se faufiler parmi la foule dans les rues et admirer les lumières et les décorations, et pour profiter d'autres activités saisonnières telles que des concerts et des expositions. Et pour se chauffer, une tasse de vin chaud ou de jus d'orange chaud vaut le coup.

Strasbourg's Christmas market
