I live in Canada and French is one of our two official languages. More and more French is being taught in schools at all levels. The province Of Quebec has by far the most French speaking people in Canada.

[ I'm curious about the questions asking if readers are French...hard for me to imagine that a native French speaker would use the site.]

As you can see in the poll results, there are quite a few native French speakers here. Most of them use the site “backwards” in order to learn English, but some are teachers looking for help explaining what they know intuitively, and a few are here because they love their language and enjoy reading a non-native speaker’s take on it.

I lived Paris France for 7 years and subsequently moved to the U.S. where I studied French Literature at the University of California UCSD. I must say taking French Literature as a subject helped me immensely with understanding the french language.

I am Spanish, I have visited France several times, but I do and have lived in the United States of America the great Majority of my life. I am however, of French stock. I love the French language and of course it’s food and and people. I want so much to be fluent in French, but alas, it does not come easy to me.
Thank you for giving me this great opportunity to to learn some French on your website.
