Follow me on:
Here’s a pretty good site (from Quebec) for French e-books:
They’re available in PDF & ePub formats (so, not supported by Kindle). They don’t have a humongous selection, but pretty ample. About 20,000.
You can also find a few sites with e-books in French (some free) by just doing a Google search. En français, bien sûr
I’ve just had a look but unfortunately you have to be in Canada to be allowed to buy and download them .
Bonjour, mes amis.
I’m an American author, playwright, and screenwriter living in Los Angeles.
My comedy novel, “Tuxes,” a satire of the classic multi-generational rich-family saga, was published in 2007 in the U.S. by BeachSide Press. It’s garnered excellent reviews, including comparisons to such writers as Jonathan Swift, William Dean Howells, and Kurt Vonnegut.
In January of this year, Polymancer Press, a division of Polymancer Studios, Inc., of Montreal, Quebec, Canada, published “Tuxes (French Edition),” that being my novel “Tuxes” in a French translation.
“Tuxes (French Edition)” is available from the Kindle Store at Amazon and at Amazon.co.uk.
It’s also available from iTunes in the U.S., Britain, Australia, Germany, and of course, France.
I’m posting this here, as I recently read the dialogue among those desiring to read French literature in eBook form.
I hope “Tuxes (French Edition)” will appeal to you, and that you’ll feel inspired to share this news about
the novel with your friends.
Very best regards,
“Tuxes (French Edition)”
Los Angeles, California

Do u know any easy to read french books for beginners(e-books)?
I have recommended books for beginners here: http://french.about.com/od/reading/tp/begreaders.htm
When I’m learning a new language, I like to read books and stories that I’ve read in English. Whether that’s translations of Americans/Brits/Aussies/etc into another language – like Hemingway’s Por Quien Doblan Las Camapanas – or the original that I’ve read translations of – like Guy de Maupassant’s Boule de Suif – it helps a TON to know the story you’re reading. I started studying French about four months ago, and I’m working on the de Maupassant, and came to this page looking for places to buy Anatole France or Balzac or other French authors whose work I know and whose prose isn’t totally unapproachable (that is, I’m not going after Proust for a while…). Minus regular conversation, there’s no better or enjoyable way to learn than to dive into literature.
You can read thousands of French eBooks on Culturethèque, the free online platform for Institut Français in the UK. We have lot of classics: including Maupassant, Balzac and Proust (if you’re feeling brave!), as well as comic books, children’s books, travel and history books. You can also watch videos, listen to podcasts and read blogs all from the Institut.
