Avec ses canaux bordés de restos et boutiques, la petite Venise est mignonne et vivante (mot du jour). Le centre-ville, lui, est plein de fleurs et doté d'une jolie architecture. Annecy est une ville vraiment exceptionnelle, et notre journée était presque parfaite.

Annecy
Nicknamed "Venice of the Alps," Annecy (in the Haute-Savoie department) must be one of the most beautiful French cities which are unknown outside of Europe. With an enormous park, three waterways, and one of the most beautiful lakes I've ever seen in my life, Annecy is a lovely blend of town and country.
Whether you admire it while relaxing in the park, riding a bike, or enjoying yourself on a pedal boat, Lake Annecy, ringed by the Alps, is magnificent. I can easily imagine living in Annecy in order to be able to enjoy this beautiful natural spot all the time.
With its canals lined with restaurants and shops, "Little Venice" is cute and lively. As for downtown, it's full of flowers and pretty architecture. Annecy is a truly exceptional city, and our day there was almost perfect.

Merci a vous pour votre ‘blog post’ – j’aime Annecy, il est très jolie. Il est un de mes endroits préférés en Haute-savoie (j’habite en Haute-savoie, pres Gèneve, mais je viens d’Angleterre – pardon pour mon Français! Je suis un debutant.)

J’adore Annecy! J’y suis allee plusieurs fois quand j’ai etudie et travaille en France en 1998 et 2000 mais la derniere fois que j’ai visite cette belle ville etait en 2005. On a loue un petit bateau pendant 2 heures et on a nage au milieu du lac — magnifique!

I was actually drawn to Annecy after having read an article in the travel section of the Los Angeles Times newspaper. The article also showed a closeup picture of where the main canal splits into two alongside of that former prison, chapel, museum (don’t really remember). The article spoke so well of the city and surrounding area that I was intrigued enough to make a commitment to visit there. And sure enough, in 2002 on one of my month long stays in France, I took a day trip from Paris to Annecy via TGV. After walking around the park and lake, I had a lovely lunch at one of the restaurants along the canal. It was a beautiful sunny day in October of the year. Finally, I agree with all you said.

I was placed in Annecy last year as an English Teaching Assistant and it really is an amazing little city. I can still hardly believe that I lived in such a breathtakingly beautiful place with the best trip to work (bicycling along the lake). I definitely recommend this place as a must-see in the French Alps!
I visited Annecy back in the 80’s when I was living in France, and I loved reading what you wrote about it! I’ve always said that if I had to go back to any place in France, it would be a toss-up between Annecy and Les Baux de Provence. Both were truly magnificent.
Nous vivons quarante minutes en voiture d’Annecy dans les Montagnes de Bauges. La festival de feu d’artifice chaque été à Annecy est très célèbre et attire des gens de partout de le monde. Il est vraiment incroyable!

J’adore Annecy. j’y suis allé en 2006 pour une formation. C’était la première fois que je suis allé à l’étranger. Annecy était magnific. On a pris beacoup de photos.
