Risoul
Besides Seyne, we visited another village in the Hautes-Alpes known mainly for its ski resort: Risoul. After a wrong turn that lasted more than 2 hours (long story; I'll talk about it another time), we finally reached the last turn leading to La Maison de Joséphine bed and breakfast, ranked three ears of corn*, where we stayed for three nights.
The village of Risoul is cute and we had a lovely view over the fields and mountains from our window. The organic, vegetarian table d'hôte (literally, "host's table [for dinner]") was very good, and it was nice to chat with two French couples. But we only ate there once, because we'd decide to picnic mostly during our long trip, in order not to spend half of our budget on meals.
*The "ear of corn" ranking is a guarantee of quality by the bed and breakfast organization Gîtes de France, which indicates, very precisely, the comfort level of any given lodging.

Out of how many ears of corn is a ranking of three? Does the ranking apply only to les chambre d’hôtes? or also to hotels? Thank you!
Laura, vous avez écrivez ‘notre long voyage’. Est-ce qu’il y a une raison à cela? C’est peut-être un usage ‘fickle’ de l’adjectif ‘long’ ?

Ce qu’il faisait froid à Risoul? Les montagnes sont souvent plus frais que dans les plaines, et il semble froid dans votre photo. Je suppose que vous étiez là en été.

We’ve been to Risoul three times, but only in the winter for skiing. I am glad that you said it was very warm in July as we were thinking of seeing how different it looks in summer. As a ski resort i would recommend it to anyone. It is very family orientated and the pistes are ideal for all levels.
