Lauzerte

Our visit to Lauzerte (in Tarn-et-Garonne, the 82nd department) happened to coincide with the weekly market, which had attracted an impressive number of visitors.

We loved this "curled up" corner of the main plaza's paving, and also the spectacular views; fortunately, the town didn't skimp on benches for those who want to sit down in order to better appreciate the countryside. It's not surprising that Lauzerte is one of France's most beautiful villages.

Laura,
Since you are providing pictures of the various cities and villages that you visit, I think your subscribers might also appreciate a map picture of the area as well. It would not necessarily have to be detailed showing many French cities. I think just a France outline with perhaps a star in the general location of the village you are describing would be adequate. E.g. a star could be shown in the bottom center of a French map to indicate Montpelier.
Just a thought.

That’s a good idea. The articles that will be showing up on the site until the end of October were all written ahead of time because I am traveling all summer, and I just don’t have time to add maps to them. But in the future, I will try to work out a way to provide some geographical info.

Laura – very interesting village without doubt.
Ce coin <> du dallage – obviously a sculpture of some kind. Do you know the “rest-of-the-story” about it??
I, as Francoise and David have asked, what is the blue under the folded bricks??
What talented artisians to make this sculpture.

In adding to the excellent comment about mapping the French regional locations mentioned in these wonderful articles, what might make life easier if you can use google maps.. I’m not familiar with the technical options available to your for your About.com blog.. but maybe there’s a way to integrate google maps.. this would be much easier for you… and hopefully require very little work on your part.. while meeting the need for readers to identify where you in France you have writing about.
